Frequently Asked Questions
LTSI is not an engineering firm. We are a technical services company that offers many of the same type of services that engineering firms provide without the high overhead and additional costs. We can outsource professional engineering services under our management upon request as we have done for other entities. We have worked in concert with all types of engineering and professional surveying firms to help support the electric utility industry. We have produced numerous sets of staking sheets and drawings for construction work plans, line ties and additions, road widening projects, and routine maintenance. Moreover, we have completed the plan and profile development, easement research, preparation and acquisition, and creation and submission of associated permits in conjunction with each project.
We are currently staffed with 50 employees fully capable of providing the professional services that we offer. Our supervisors are Trimble certified GPS technicians. The majority of our employees are cross-trained to do all of the services that we provide. Twelve of our current employees have been instrumental in the development of many GIS and mapping projects for electric cooperatives, municipals, and investor owned utilities. We have several employees proficient in AutoCAD and seven employees that have a combined 200 years of service in the utility industry. We employ former electric utility employees as well as former engineering firm employees.
